An enormous thank-you to everyone who helped to make this year’s Fair a resounding success, raising nearly £1,000 towards the Restoration Appeal. The weather was kind and several stalls sold out as the event was drawing to a close.
Lewes’ Mayor, Councillor Dr Graham Mayhew joined hundreds of others in Cliffe Hall for the morning and was a winner on the tombola stall (pictured).
“The morning raised much-needed funds for the 2016 appeal”, said churchwarden Trevor Butler. “We are enormously grateful to everyone for making it one of the most successful Christmas fairs ever staged. As we enter the final phase of renovation works to our ancient church, every penny is vital to ensure we reach the target. When we began, earlier in the year, £60,000 seemed an enormous sum to have to raise; but we have experienced generosity from many quarters and are well on the way to achieving the target.”
