St Thomas’ remains central to community life in the Cliffe area of Lewes, and beyond.
All are invited to informal coffee at Irma’s (opposite the church – junction of South Street and Cliffe High Street) on the first Wednesday of the month from 10.30am until Noon.
We are delighted to welcome the congregation of the Orthodox Parish of the Nativity of Christ who regularly meet for worship in our building.

SUPPORTING OUTSIDE CAUSES
FSW – We are delighted to support Sussex Family Support Work which helps families in Sussex to overcome difficulties and prevent crisis. They support families struggling with issues such as poverty, ill health, learning difficulties, bereavement, family break-up and domestic abuse. The work of FSW provides emotional and practical support to families in need. This includes listening, advice, advocacy, food parcels, support groups and play activities. They stay with a family until they get back on their feet.
RIDE AND STRIDE – Each year we also support the Sussex Historic Church’s backing for Ride and Stride on the second Saturday in September. The event encourages people to see the wonderful churches and chapels we have in the area and to explore parts of Sussex that they may not normally see. In Sussex there are over 600 churches involved, some of them almost a thousand years old. Details HERE.
CARING AND SHARING – “Live more simply that others may simply live” is the motto of this East Sussex charity. We support their project in Olinda, Brazil. ‘My Father’s House’ offers a safe haven for boys living on the streets and are at risk. We raise over £700 a year towards this vital project to help those in need.
LEWES LINKS – We are members of the Christian group of Churches Together in this historic county town of East Sussex. Our congregation donate generously to support local projects and give to the Food Bank based at the Phoenix Centre here in the Cliffe, helping those who find it difficult to provide their basic needs.
